The Church of Living Hope is a vibrant congregation committed to the mission of Christ,
and is a church of the Canadian Midwest District of The Christian & Missionary Alliance in
Canada. We are seeking a Senior Pastor who is passionate about ministry, leadership, and
discipleship to lead our congregation in fulfilling its mission of spreading the gospel,

Key Role Responsibilities
The Senior Pastor will work alongside the Board of Elders and is expected to carry out a
wide range of pastoral duties, including but not limited to:
• Preaching and teaching: Regular preaching during Worship Services, with
arrangements for pulpit fills as necessary. Nurture small group ministries and
provide teaching leadership.
• Evangelism and mission: Engage in evangelistic and missionary activities both
locally and globally.
• Pastoral care: Conduct regular visitation of members, visitors, and shut-ins,
provide counseling, and disciple ministry leaders.
• Ceremonies: Perform weddings, funerals, baby dedications, and other church
ceremonies.
• Leadership and administration: Oversee all paid staff, coordinate ministry
placement for members, and ensure effective integration of new members. Gather materials
to compile for annual reports to share with ministry leaders, parishioners (during the AGM) and
with the District Ministry Office.
Required Qualifications
• A deep and abiding faith in Christ, with a commitment to spiritual and personal
growth.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure with The Christian & Missionary Alliance in
Canada.
• Strong preaching, teaching, and pastoral care skills.
• Proven leadership in church administration and management of ministry teams.
• A heart for evangelism, discipleship, and missions.
• Ability to nurture and empower others for service within the church.
Expectations & Accountability
• The Senior Pastor must fully comply with the ethical and doctrinal standards set
forth by The Christian & Missionary Alliance in Canada.
• This position is held accountable by the Board of Elders and the District Superintendent
of the Canadian Midwest District.
• The Senior Pastor must operate within the guidelines set by the denomination
and the church’s leadership.

Faithful to the Doctrines of The Christian & Missionary Alliance
– The candidate must hold and teach all doctrines contained in the Statement of Faith of The
Christian & Missionary Alliance in Canada.

– The pastor must live a life above reproach, upholding high
standards of personal and professional ethics, including sexual and emotional
faithfulness to family.
Healthy Relationships
– A commitment to fostering positive, Christ-centered
relationships within the congregation, including respectful, supportive interactions
with staff and ministry leaders.
Submission to Authority
– Full submission to the authority of the Board of Elders
and the denominational leadership of The Christian & Missionary Alliance in
Canada. This includes adherence to denominational practices, principles, and
policies.
Holistic Wellness
– Maintaining a balanced approach to body, soul, and spirit, and
setting an example of physical and emotional health for the congregation.
Servant Leadership
– A heart of service that reflects the heart of Christ, with an
emphasis on giving and producing in ministry rather than taking or
consuming.
