Youth & Young Adults Pastor

Job Title: Youth & Young Adults Pastor

Job Type: Full-Time, 40 hours/week 

Compensation: Hiring range is $54,000-60,000 per year, plus benefits

Overview:

Summit Community Church is looking for a passionate, dynamic and high-capacity Youth and Young Adults Pastor to guide students in Grades 6–12 and young adults aged 18–25 to know and intentionally follow Jesus. Reporting to the Executive Pastor, you’ll bring vision and energy to a growing ministry with a strong foundation. You’ll take the lead in growing a vibrant youth and young adults movement where the next generation walks closely with Jesus, grows in community and connection, and boldly shares their faith.

What You'll Do

  • Leading weekly programs, Bible studies, and discipleship groups that encourage spiritual growth and evangelism
  • Providing spiritual mentorship, teaching, and pastoral care to youth and young adults
  • Developing an annual ministry plan in alignment with the broader church mission and ministry team
  • Delivering high-quality events like retreats, mission trips, service projects, and social gatherings 
  • Recruiting, training, and supporting a strong and engaged volunteer team
  • Communicating with youth, young adults, parents, and volunteers in ways that build trust, clarity, and a culture of fun and belonging
  • Managing ministry logistics including scheduling, budget, supplies, and event coordination
  • Ensuring a safe and welcoming environment by following Plan to Protect® policiesRequired Qualifications

What You Bring

Education & Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in Theology, Ministry, Education, or a related field
  • 5–7 years of leadership experience in youth ministry or a similar setting
  • An alternate combination of education and experience that shows you’re ready for this role will be considered

Skills & Attributes

  • A deep and authentic relationship with Jesus Christ, with a heart for the Spirit’s presence and leading
  • Joyful and energetic passion for working with youth and helping them grow in their faith journeys
  • Brings Scripture to life through clear, relevant teaching that shapes the faith of youth and young adults
  • Clarity and energy to every space - on stage, in writing, on social, and in real conversations
  • Know how to build trust, handle the messy stuff with grace, and lead with discernment and sound judgement
  • Ability to be flexible, adaptable, and calm under pressure and when plans change on the fly
  • Consistent follow through - can plan, organize, and deliver what’s needed with excellence

Position Requirements

  • Legally able to work in Canada
  • Able to work onsite and remotely across days, evenings, and weekends. Sundays are a regular workday for this position.
  • Can provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Able to demonstrate alignment with Christian & Missionary Alliance’s doctrine and position statements
