Overview
South Edmonton Alliance Church (SEAC) is a growing, multicultural and intergenerational community of Christ followers located in the SE Edmonton community of Millwood. We are looking for a passionate full-time pastor to lead our growing Cantonese-speaking and Mandarin speaking Student Ministries, consisting of over 40 youth from grades 7-12, and college/university aged young adults.

In order to accomplish this, we encourage our Cantonese-speaking and Mandarin-speaking Student Ministries to partner and collaborate with the many other ministries that happen at SEAC. We have a team of youth and young adult counselors that are committed to working together to lead and serve our students and families.
Part I – Prerequisites
- Mature Christ follower who has a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ
- A love for people with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills – able to mentor and cultivate meaningful relationship through intentional interactions
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Bible College/University or master’s degree from an accredited Seminary.
- Accredited or eligible for accreditation as a licensed worker with the Western Canadian District of the Christian & Missionary Alliance in Canada
- Previous experience in Youth and/or Young Adult ministry or equivalent is desirable
- Fluent in spoken and written in Cantonese and Mandarin languages with knowledge of English language is an asset
- Fully embraces the mission, vision and values of SEAC, recognizing their membership to the church, participating in the regular life of the church through Corporate Worship, Biblical Teaching and Life Groups
- A certificate of non-criminal record issued by the Police Department in Edmonton.
Part II – Essential Responsibilities
- Participate in preaching and teaching the Word of God to the youth, young adults, & greater church body through sermons, bible studies, workshops and other learning opportunities
- Oversee all programs and ministries for Cantonese-speaking and Mandarin-speaking youth grades 7-12, and college/young adults, including but not limited to: Saturday and Sunday Worships, Christian Education and Learning, fellowships, special events, etc.
- Develop and implement an annual Cantonese-speaking and Mandarin-speaking Student Ministry plans and budgets that is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of SEAC
- Recruit, develop, coach and disciple ministry team leaders and volunteers
- Be available to counsel and pray with students and their parents regarding spiritual matters
- Plan and implement strategies to connect and communicate with parents on a regular basis (ie. focus groups, information sessions, newsletters, etc.), working to equip and train them to disciple their students
- Plan and implement outreach events and disciple-making process for students
- Oversee intentional transitions and partnerships with the Children’s Ministry
- Report to and work under the guidance and accountability of the Senior Pastor or the designated leader
- Work with other pastoral staff in planning and implementing events and general church programs as needed
- Attend weekly staff meeting and other staff functions and meetings as required
- Other responsibilities (such as English-speaking Student Ministry) may be assigned by the Senior Pastor with adjustment to the current role.
