Overview:
An ideal candidate will be a devout, active
follower of Christ. This devotion will be
grounded in a deep personal spiritual
relationship with God through the work of Jesus
Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit and will be
apparent in a life of loving witness and service
that is consistent with the teachings of Jesus
and the fruit of the Spirit.
The Lead Pastor will work collaboratively with
the staff, the Board of Elders and the
congregation from a place of internal wellness
of soul. They will joyfully, effectively and
accurately communicate the Word of God.
They will be able to clearly articulate and
communicate goals and then work together
with the staff, the Board and the congregation
to advance these goals. They will have a deep
interest and concern for the discipleship of
Christians and will work to develop a culture of
discipleship at OAC to further the mission of
God’s kingdom.
A strong candidate will have a proven track
record of effective leadership within the church.
They will be currently licensed as an official
worker with the Alliance Canada or able to gain
that licensing prior to engaging with us for this
role. They will have significant theological
training with a deep appreciation

- The primary purpose of the Lead Pastor is to provide effective spiritual leadership to the Board of Elders and teh congregtion of Okotoks Alliance Church to help us fulfull our calling to love God and neighbour.
Accountabilities
Required Qualifications
- A proven track record of effective leadership and influence within the church.
- A ministry-related degree with theological training is highly valued (graduate degree or higher preferred.)
- A licensed, ordained worker with the Alliance Canada (or the desire for and theological alignment required to pursue licensing with the Alliance Canada.)
Preferred Skills and Experience
- The ability to encourage, inspire and lead the church forward.
- A proven recruiter, equipper and nurturer of teams.
- An excellent preacher and communicator.
- The ability to pastor people in the context of their day-to-day lives, including times of disappointment and complexity.
- A personal commitment to influencing others for Christ.
- A capacity for logistics and careful institutional management, including the oversight of finances and the physical facilities.
