Discerning in Mishkeegogamang, ON!

In partnership with Redwood Park Church in Thunder Bay, Deepak Kumar is exploring ministry possibilities with children, youth, and families in Mishkeegogamang, ON. Through this season Deepak will focus on developing his ministry skills and deepening his relationship with Christ. Deepak approaches this time with open hands, in anticipation of how God is shaping him for long-term service in His kingdom. Read below to find out how Deepak has already discovered who, in this season, he is being called to serve. 

"I sense God is calling me to serve in communities where children and youth need guidance, encouragement, and a safe space to grow in faith, learning, and emotional well-being. Specifically, I feel drawn to work with Indigenous children and youth, walking alongside them in a way that honors their culture, heritage, and unique experiences. God has already led me to Mishkeegogamang, and I see this move as a step in responding to His call to be present where His people are. While the exact form of this ministry is still unfolding, I am trusting God to show me how to best serve children, families, and the wider community here. This apprenticeship is a season to learn, listen, and discern how He wants me to use my gifts, experiences, and heart for children in this place.

Deepak is also supported in this journey by the Central District of The Alliance Canada.

You're invited to pray along with Deepak during this season for the following: 1. For our ministry and family as we serve in Mishkeegogamang. 2. Pray for the development of deep and trusting relationships with the families, elders, and children - honoring their cultural and walking humbly alongside them. 3. Pray that we would trust God to provide for our needs and the needs of the community we serve. 4. Please pray that our service would plant lasting seeds of faith, love, and resilience in the hearts of the children and youth, bearing fruit for God's kingdom beyond this season.
