Current Priorities

Nd and Jnt first moved to Soli island in 2003. For the first 2 years, they were involved primarily in language and cultural acquisition, and then they spent 10 years in community development through English language teaching, literacy, and agricultural programs. Since 2016, they have been engaged in an agricultural business as a catalyst for Kingdom advancement.

Vision

For this is what the Lord has commanded us: “ ‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’ ”- Acts 13:47

Bio

Nd & Jnt were high school sweethearts who were married in 1995; they have three children, two of whom are still living at home. They were raised in believing households in a small city in Alberta, and they each felt called to cross-cultural service when they were still young – Nd while in high school and Jnt when she was five years old.

God has called them to live and serve among the Soli people of the Asian Spice region. Nd, Jnt, and their family live on a tropical, volcanic island in the Asian Spice region. The local people are primarily farmers and fishermen, and it is estimated that 90 per cent of them live on less than two dollars each day. The island has an extremely high rate of divorce and/or spousal abandonment, and it is rare to meet a family that does not have an immediate family member (husband, wife, or child) working in a neighbouring country so that they can send money back home. The people of Soli Island are 99.5% Muslim.
