A new venture in Tsawwassen, BC

Tsawwassen is a residential community at the southwest of the city of Delta, BC. Latest studies suggest that the city of Delta has experienced more than 20% yearly growth in the ethnic Chinese population. With several large housing developments under construction, the city will continue to witness similar growth over the coming years. Leaders at Richmond Chinese Alliance Church and Tsawwassen Alliance Church are seeing this as an opportunity to follow the leading of Jesus into new things.

Tsawwassen Chinese emerged as a Discerning Community under the leadership of Mark Liu. For just over 2.5 years the group prayed and discerned how Jesus was already at work in the community, and how they could partner with him to serve the ever growing Chinese population in this area. Over this time the community experienced growth and answered prayers. Made up of individuals from both Mainland China as well as those from Hong Kong, there was a growing desire for a leader who could speak multiple languages. John So brings a unique background that allows him to connect and speak with ethnic Chinese from varying backgrounds. As this area continues to see an influx of immigration, this New Venture is meeting a need by providing a place of both worship and fellowship. Their heart is to see that those who come and experience Jesus would then be moved to share such love with others in the community.

This new venture is supported by the Pacific District, the CCACA, Richmond Chinese Alliance Church and Tsawwassen Alliance Church
