Meet Gibin! A Discerning Individual in Fort Saskatchewan & Westlock, AB.

Gibin Biju is exploring how God may be leading him to serve and connect with South Asian communities in Fort Saskatchewan and Westlock, Alberta. Born and raised in India in a Christian family, Gibin grew up surrounded by people from diverse religious and cultural backgrounds, shaping his appreciation for cross-cultural relationships and the importance of building genuine connections. With a background in youth ministry and trauma counselling, he has a heart for helping people experience belonging, hope, and faith. He believes that cross-cultural ministry is not simply about inviting people into existing church spaces, but also about listening to communities, learning from their experiences, and discerning how God is already at work among them. As he continues his discernment journey, Gibin is listening, learning, and building relationships to better understand how churches might partner together to see new expressions of Christian community emerge.

Gibin is supported in this discernment journey through partnerships with Fort Saskatchewan Alliance Church, Westlock Alliance Church, Peniel Pentecostal Assembly Edmonton, along with the Western District of The Alliance Canada.

PRAYER 

You are invited to partner with Gibin by praying for the following items: 

1. Discernment and Direction: Pray that I would have wisdom and discernment to recognize where God is leading in this season. As I explore opportunities for ministry in Fort Saskatchewan and next steps in Westlock, pray for clarity in understanding the needs of each community and for courage to follow God's leading, even when the path forward is unfamiliar.

2. Building Relationships with South Asian Communities: Pray for opportunities to build authentic relationships with South Asian families and individuals in these communities. May I have the humility to listen, learn, understand their stories, and serve in ways that communicate the love of Jesus with genuine care and cultural sensitivity.

3. Churches Embracing Cross-Cultural Ministry: Pray that churches would develop a deeper understanding of the cultural diversity around them and grow in their willingness to welcome, learn from, and serve alongside people from different backgrounds. May God raise up churches that cross cultural barriers and reflect the unity and love of Christ.

4. Partnerships and New Ministry Opportunities: Pray for God to open doors for meaningful partnerships between churches, community organizations, and South Asian communities. Ask that these relationships would lead to creative, locally rooted expressions of ministry that respond to the needs of the community and create opportunities for people to encounter Jesus.

5. Personal Growth and Faithfulness: Pray that I would remain faithful, humble, and sensitive to the Holy Spirit throughout this season of discernment. Ask God to shape my character, strengthen my faith, and help me balance vision with patience as I build relationships, learn from others, and take the next steps in this journey.
