Current Priorities

With the current team leaders retiring, Joze and Jocelyn have assumed the leadership roles for the Japan team. As leaders, their current priorities are caring for the team – Laura K., Kat Z., David and Evangeline K. (US Alliance), Alan and Joan Y. (Fukuoka, Chinese Diaspora) – and continuing to develop friendships that lead to spiritual conversations.

Vision

With the desire for more Japanese to have access to Jesus and in partnership with our team and other believers, we long to see a growing network of fellowships of disciplemakers in the Tokyo Area. We seek to do this through house church networks and marketplace fellowship strategies.

Bio

Joze and Jocelyn grew up in Christian homes where they accepted Jesus as King and Saviour at a young age. Jocelyn sensed God’s calling to cross-cultural overseas ministry as a teenager, and Joze received his call after graduating from university. After some education, training, and internships, they began serving as a couple with The Alliance Canada in 2011. They served in Guinea and Niger in West Africa, and through an internship they were developing, they were able to visit Senegal and the Middle East. Together, they desire to love people, to contextualize and communicate the Good News that Jesus is King to those who have yet to hear, and to invite them to become part of the family of God. They joined the Japan Team in 2022 and are currently serving as team leaders.
