A new venture in Oakville, ON

Oakville has seen a gradual rise of newcomers from Hong Kong in recent years; however, a dedicated Christian ministry to Cantonese-speaking residents does not exist. Recognizing the unique need to support this growing demographic, Oakville Cantonese new venture (formerly a discerning community) has launched to specifically serve the Cantonese-speaking community.

The shared vision for this new venture is that, “By the empowerment of the Spirit, we are to reach out to & serve the Cantonese-speaking community, and beyond with Christ’s love and the Gospel, in order to multiply disciples for His Kingdom. This community is dedicated to upholding God’s word and his principles in their faith and practices, as they serve the community and the world around them.

This new venture is launching with the following partnerships: CCACA (Canadian Chinese Alliance Churches of Canada), Oakville Creekside Alliance Church, Hamilton Chinese Alliance Church, and the Central District of The Alliance Canada. The group plans to worship, break bread together and continue to learn more about the mission field of Oakville and its Cantonese residents.
