2025 New Ventures Year in Review

New Ventures

New Ventures is all about reaching new people, in new places, in Canada.

Every year at this time we take a moment to look back on the stories of what God did across New Ventures in the previous year. When we look at these dots on a map we think of the people who are stepping out in faith and trusting Jesus to lead them in multiplying disciples - reaching new people in new places in Canada.

These stories are as varied and diverse as our beautiful nation. There are stories of things that have never been done before. There are stories of faithful presence over a long time. There are stories of new and exciting opportunities that have emerged suddenly as Jesus opens new doors.

Here are some highlights:

In 2025, we helped sign 29 new partnership agreements. Each agreement represents people who stepped out, put themselves out there, and found that there are organizations nearby that wanted to be a part of it. Partnership agreements are a foundational tool for moving from a sense of calling into something concrete, on the ground. It’s how we understand our roles in any venture, clarifying what this new thing is about, how it will operate, and who will do what.

And this year in particular, when we stepped back and looked at all these new kingdom partnerships, we noticed an encouraging trend—there was an incredible diversity of languages: Portuguese, Korean, Nepalese, French, Mandarin, Urdu, Spanish, Arabic, Hindu, Punjabi, and Amharic, just in 2025!

And those agreements included 14 New Ventures, 14 Discerning Individuals, 1 new Discerning Community, and yes, a new venture transitioned to church status last year.

All Souls, a new venture in Calgary, celebrates this past year:

"Our weekly worship has become the very heartbeat of our ministry, shaping who we are, grounding us in God's Word, and uniting us in shared mission. This foundation now strengthens us as we look ahead to the next season with hope and expectancy.
As we look forward to our second year, we are reminded once again that our workplace and daily routines are not separate from our faith but are, in fact, a place of worship and mission."

Yejun Lee, a discerning Individual in St. Catharines, ON, had this to say about the experience so far:

“God is calling me to places where the gospel is needed, and especially to the next generation. He has placed in my heart a deep love for children and young people. However, I am still unclear about how to share the gospel with them and how to make disciples among them. That is why I believe this discerning apprenticeship will be the best training process for me.” - Storm Lee

And our new church, Face2Face, in Scarborough, ON, reflected on God’s providence through the challenges they overcame:

“As a new developing church, we desperately needed a meeting place in a convenient location since most of our students don’t have a car. The Lord connected us with the Grace Christian Reformed Church and now we are using their facility to meet every Sunday afternoon. We hosted our first Baptism service in August 2025. Two sisters have been baptized in a river during the camping retreat. Four people confessed faith in our services or events during 2025. We are slowly reaching out to the community around us.”

If you follow our monthly newsletter, you likely saw all of this already, but when we step back and look at the year at a glance, it’s incredible what God has invited us to do together.

We also need to thank our partners: Alliance churches, Cultural associations and networks, other ministries, and even other denominations! If you’re curious about partnership, who can partner, and what that entails, reach out through our contact page

And if you sense God calling you into something new, remember that New Ventures is here, nationally and in each Alliance district. Let’s have a conversation.

We look forward with hearts full of anticipation for all that God has in store for 2026!

New Ventures

New Ventures creates space for new expressions of church to emerge. Whether in urban centres, rural communities, or among diverse people groups, we focus on multiplying disciples and equipping leaders to reach new people in the least- churched and under-resourced areas of Canada.
